Fukuoka is a beautiful city! There are beautiful beaches and mountains surrounding the city. It is a vibrant city full of young people! There are VERY few churches trying to reach the Japanese youth! The people are open and extremely friendly!

In 2014, we will be starting Lifehouse Fukuoka. Lifehouse Fukuoka will be a young, vibrant, bilingual church aimed primarily at Japanese university students and young professionals. We want to reach out to the unsaved Japanese people with the gospel of Jesus Christ. We will do this through street and university outreaches, and through dynamic services and events. We want to build a significant church in Fukuoka that will impact all of Kyushu. This is a long term investment into Japan! We believe there is a significant need in Fukuoka for a model of church that is aimed at reaching the youth of Japan.

John and Stefanie McDonald were youth pastors in Australia for 7 years, and were part of a church that supported Jesus Lifehouse from when it first began in Tokyo in 2002. Stefanie did a year as an intern in Tokyo in 2006. In 2012 they felt the call of God to move to Japan and in January 2013 they moved to Tokyo to be a part of Jesus Lifehouse. During this time God put the city of Fukuoka on their hearts. They have since fallen in love with Fukuoka and have a long term vision from God for reaching the people of Kyushu. John and Stefanie are great leaders, who have a passion for the Japanese people.

We are currently gathering a team to help us start Lifehouse Fukuoka in 2014. We are seeking both Japanese and foreigners to come and be a part of this exciting church plant. We require a minimum commitment of one year for people who want to intern with us. We need interns to be active in outreaches, making new friends every day and inviting them to church. Interns will serve in every area of church life and help to run Sunday services and events. Most people in Fukuoka have never heard the gospel message! Why not come and be a part of reaching Japan for Jesus! You will work part-time teaching English, and you will get to experience all the amazing culture, food and sights that Japan has to offer, whilst living for God and building His church!
